IN MEMORIAM

Zurab N. Khoshabaev-Tziklauri

Very bad news has reached the Assyrian community in CIS countries. On the 7 of August 1997 an 20-year old Assyrian youth was perished untimely. As this young man was known to be very kind and generous, the. people around enjoyed being with him very much so that no- one remained indifferent. This young brilliant man was Zurab Khoshabaev- Tziklauri who met a sudden death in absurd and illogical circumstances.

The son of the famous businessman and the prominent public worker of the Assyrian community Mr. Nugzar Khoshabaev- Tziklauri, Zurab always stood by his father and was his right hand in all he did for the Assyrian diasporas. At the helm of a very renowned company in Moscow alongside his father Zurab always participated to every national enterprise and endeavor. Besides, he sponsored numerous national cultural projects as well as the erection of temples of the Assyrian Church of the East in Moscow and Republic of Georgia. His enormous altruistic talent and love for the near ones is so memorable that it is still hard to understand how Zurab made himself so many friends over a short time indeed. Apparently he made it with his love and devotion. People from different walks of life, professions, opinions, men and women, the old and the young, all of them just love him so dear. In return he loved them all equally. It is no wonder that many Assyrians from CIS countries as well as from elsewhere far and beyond came to the village of Kanda in Georgia to attend his funeral and pay him by this their last tribute of the living.

In this very hour of mourning we should like to express our condolence to Nugzar and Nana. In our praying we are asking Our Lord to keep in them belief, love and hope as well as to give them strength to cope with this pain of loss and this hour of mourning. We are praying to God for redemption for we all hold responsibility for our children all along. May God give him rest : in peace while the memory of this dear young man stays with us in our hearts.
