Exactly 80 years have passed since the Ottoman Empire launched a slaughter campaign in the land in pursuit of destruction of entire nations indeed. Over 1.5 million Armenians and 500,000 Assyrians perished in the terrible ordeal.

     Humanity has not recovered from this plague anyway. Today several attempts have been made on ethnic genocide in some countries. In view of the past tragedies we must put an end to the dirty schemes of dirty politicians.  We must as part of our obligation to life remember the casualties of cruel politics and curb bloody crimes against the people.

     We asked Mr. Geworg L. Oganessyan, the spokesman of Armenian embassy in Russia, to give his point of view in terms of the tragic events in 1914 to 1918.
